The rejection rate for applications from Türkiye to Schengen countries has doubled compared to 2019. In 2022, the Estonian Embassy in Ankara received 1,517 Schengen visa applications. Of these, 52.1% were rejected, and 786 individuals were denied a visa. This indicates that Estonia rejected one out of every two applications. Similarly, Finland had a rejection rate of 38%, Belgium 35%, and Denmark 34%.
 

Teuta Narazan, Co-Founder of Vesta Global, noted that the demand for citizenship through investment has increased by 40% recently, highlighting that this provides significant advantages particularly for Turkish citizens’ children and businesspeople. She added that those considering education are choosing Portugal's "Golden Visa" program. Instead of buying a new property in Istanbul, they now prefer to invest in homes overseas. Additionally, the number of remote-working digital nomads is rising, and according to 2022 statistics from TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute), emigration from Türkiye increased by 62.3%. This is not only due to the post-pandemic shift to remote work, but also because of the significant increase in housing prices in Türkiye.”
